A Dream Misplaced

A dream enriched,

     Nourished through,

Shall grow and flow

     and run anew.

A dream misplaced,

     Falls away,

To sleep and wait

     and blow astray.

Make your choice.

Your careless words,                                                               Your happy criticism

Your barbed tongue,                                                                churns the dream.

Poison the seed,                                                                      To butter from milk,

Dreamer’s song unsung.                                                          Art the rising cream.

The dream misplaced,                                                             The dream enriched,

                 Falls away.                                                                              Nourished, grows.

            Stomped to dust,                                                                    Sunlit and water-fed;

Nothing to say.                                                                        A cultured rose.

Choose your path,

     For it’s true,

The dreamer’s dreams

     are trusted to you.

They will grow or blow,

     by your hand,

Until the dreamer wakes

     to take a stand.

Make your choice.
