I have many skills. I have offered all of them for free at one point or another.
I have two career paths that I follow simultaneously: caregiving and writing. I have done both for free. I have worked full-time at both simultaneously without having any reliable income. I have also reached a point where I can earn income for both careers simultaneously.
The fact is that I will continue to provide caregiving to those under my stewardship for as long as I am able, whether I get paid or not.
The fact is that I will continue to write and share my writing with those who choose to read it, whether I get paid or not.
That being said, I prefer to get paid for my work. I work hard. I provide real value. I deserve to afford a decent lifestyle for myself and my family. Beyond that, I know some great causes that I love donating to and I would be thrilled to have more to donate.
But those are all aspirations for another day. Right now, my primary job is healing myself.
